Google is expanding the availability of Gemini:

  • The chat feature in Google Messages is gradually rolling out to the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland
  • Added support for languages such as French, Polish, and Spanish

Within the next week, Gemini will be available to teenagers worldwide, supporting over 40 languages. This expansion:

  • Targets teenagers who meet the minimum age requirement to manage their own Google accounts
  • Helps teenagers better understand school subjects, prepare for college, or get assistance with creative projects
  • Implements additional policies and protections, including a specific onboarding process and AI literacy guides for teenagers
  • Collaborates with child safety and development experts, such as MediaSmarts (Canada), Miudos Seguros na Net (Portugal), and Fad Juventud (Spain)
